hello hello!! i am super excited about this blog and i hope it opens up some new doors, relationships and whatever else comes my way!!
my first blog worthy adventure came today when i depotted my Urban Decay Primer Potion. The UDPP is my holy grail when it comes to doing makeup looks... that and my concealer palette but i def. need my UDPP ! so the super cute bottle looks great on my vanity but its not so conducive to getting your whole bang for your buck because of its curves! I have seen videos explaining how to depot the potion but i just thought ehhh ill wait and get a new one well $$ is tight so i gave some techniques a try! the first technique i tried was heating up a mug of water and letting the UDPP sit inside the mug and hope that the potion liquifies and makes its way to the bottom so you can collect it with the doe foot applicator! THAT WAS A BIG NEGATIVE...it did nothing for me! I was so discouraged i thought for sure it was bone dry and i was out of luck. but then i figured i would try and cut the tube open and see what was inside....i love surprises.!! heres what i got:
I cut open the bottle at the top near the widest part and then again at the bottom where it widen out, those were the two places which the most product was caught so i recommend cutting the bottle into 3 sections, most techniques i have seen only cut at the widest part but there are other nooks and cranies to get product from!!!
So below is my result...i just stored the extra product in a sample jar i had it probably holds about .5 oz but thats way more than i thought i was going to get out of this!! its filled to the tippy tippy top...amazing! the only other suggestion is to be careful when cutting through the bottle obviously you need a sharp heavy duty knife ( and it does take some muscle) and also when your scooping it out watch that you do not get any little shavings in the product you are repotting that would hurt your lid if you had plastic in your potion..ouch!! well thats it for my depotting ramble but i do HIGHLY recommend doing this before buying a new one!! i will get at least 2 months or so of use out of the product i gathered because i dont use too much for each application...sounds good to me!! hope this helped...stay beautiful xoxoxo
